Weekly Report (3/16-3/22)
During this week in ISM I have completed a research assessment and a
mentor visit assessment. Also, I fully updated my research portfolio and
reviewed all my previous assessments. For my research assessment I analyzed an
article that explained the function of the heart and the diets and exercises
that helps to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system. The article had peaked
my interest since I am still looking into potential ideas that I could use for
my Final Product. In particular I was pondering about methods in which an individual
could overcome his cardiovascular problems with daily exercises and practices that
he could do from his household. For my mentor visit assessment I reflected upon
my experiences at his clinic that Tuesday where I was able to view an
Echocardiogram and EKG test done on a patient. Viewing this from the nurse’s perspective
was beneficial to me as I understood the essentials on how to accomplish these
tests. During class, we reviewed and critiqued one another’s assessments. In
particular I found this activity to be very beneficial as I was able to correct
the small errors in my own assessments that I had been oblivious to yet were
found by my peers. This
week has been a wonderful week and I hope to accomplish more in the future.
